I would assume the person is drunk or a fool or both. If this happened in the US and the person was injured or killed the parents would sue the driver for not slowing down or stopping and probably the promoter for not putting up a barrier to keep such fools away from the race course.

Like the capilla: "In memory of Juan, who almost passed eleven cars at midnight in the fog".

I've seen adolescent boys and girls in Mexico daring and taunting one another to dart across a busy highway.

I've also gagged while stuck in traffic during the baja mil watching spectators crowd onto the pavement while those super powered rigs whizzed by at what (?) a hundred twenty miles per hour. The cars miss some of those spectators by a foot or less.

In Playa Azul after several shark attacks a young man obviously filled to the brim with testosterone sneered at others cautioning him not to go surfing. I happened upon the scene as the cops and ambulance took off for the hospital. The lad lost a leg from the knee down and almost lost his life as well.

Want to commit suicide? Ridicule a macho or a cop to the point where they have to shoot you (they will).

Having been involved in the participant side of racing I can tell you that it is a big problem for the racers when spectators get too close to the action. We are trying to be competitive and want to put on a good show for the fans but it really worries us (most of us) when people do stupid stuff like this.

What do you think the driver felt when he came over the jump and saw a body in the road in front of him? He didn't know that he was pulling a drunken stunt to impress his buddies or if he had hit him. This type of thing really screws up the racing experience of the competitors and makes it hard on the promoters to be able to put on a race in the future.

I have no doubt that videos such as these are used by the forces that would lobby to ban motorsports racing from public lands in the US and some day in MX as well.

I hope he gets his "Darwin award" somewhere besides during an off road race so that we don't have to suffer for his stupidity.

Man, I haven't heard the term "Jackwagon" in quite some time. But you're right on!! How old are you?

Jack Wagon: The slang Jack Wagon was used on the Chissom Trail, driving cattle to Kansas from Texas, by the cowboys driving the cattle. When a cowboy would screw up they were called a Jack Wagon, giving reference to the chuck wagon helper or cook.
