An Expert, autonomous with the birds . . .
A man in Loreto, has taught me to look more closely, at individual trees in the forest . . . (DK, I'm talking birds here . . .)
From his website, See: bcsbirds.com, view his on-going data base of local observations). Once here, scroll to the bottom, for most recent survey.
On 4/11/2012, I saw in a very special way, all but one or two listed that day. We were at Las Garzes.
He introduced me to one important bird in particular:

Vermilion flycatcher, in my front yard.
Since that time, I follow his lists, in association with whatbird.com. A pearl, that he shared.
Presently, here in Las Garzas, I have 3 tall date palms, heads snapped by Jimena. I look forward to new friends in my forest. (DK . . . I want to
encourage nests or cafeterias on top of these very tall stumps).
You all know this Nomad as tehag. Dig deeper, if you enjoy birds.

tehag & BigOly . . . kindly show us what this guy really looks like.
I'd have to sell my boat to have the photo equipment you enjoy.

They are all around.
Until a guest pointed it out to me, I had overlooked this nicely crafted nest in the palapa overhang by my front door, in which a house finch is
keeping eggs warm .

FYI, I went to both websites and www.whatbird.com advertises the app for phones so I checked it out for Iphone and there is 50% right now which is significant. The iBird Explorer
Pro app is normally $29.99 and is now $14.99. The same company has other apps for less, the Pro is the most comprehensive and the most expensive.
Happy Birding

A pair of Gila Woodpeckers has excavated a nest hole in one of my decapitated date palms, just off my porch.
