Anniversary of San Javier
May 11 is the 312th anniversary of San Javier. The town will celebrate with a cabalgata (traditional horseback ride) from Rancho Nuevo, on the road
to Loreto, beginning at 8 and arriving in San Javier within an hour or two. There will be various activities throughout the day celebrating sierra
traditions. For more information, email mckenzie@livingrootsbaja.org.

Cue DK to begin the argument about the distance from Misión San Javier to Misión San José de Comondú and whether the regional name can be Comondú or
Comondús, according to Desi Arnaz ad infinitum, tire pressure burp, bf goodrich cough, spot gps sneeze, and mama espinosa wheeze.

I agree Shari: It was alwys well attented in the "Ole Road Days"/
Shari , Do you know if that huge Bees Honey Comb has finally left the Side of the Misson Tower??
Years ago there were so many Bees and it was so large that it dripped to the Ground!!
At one time :\"so many years ago>' i toyed with the Idea of capturing some of the bees and bringing them to Texas and transplant them in the
smaller Hives, hoping someday the Bees might make Huge Combs like the one at San Javier.
I strongly urge anyone in the area to to to this Event.

I'm about to reveal my ignorance, but I just have to ask. Doesn't San Javier celebrate its founding on its saint's day, which is Dec. 3rd, or
thereabouts?
The Spanish practice was (usually) to name places after the saint or whatever else was religiously celebrated on the date of the founding of a place.
I've been up to San Javier on several occasions in the first week of December to celebrate San Javier. They also celebrate another founding day?

Skeet,
Would it be possible to cross-breed the rattlers without rattles with the San Javier bees so you could milk the honey from the snake's fangs???
As a left-leaning humanist, I have not been able to get away from my desk and follow up with this level of practical experiment.
And would it have to be done at your place in Taxes, or could a republican get away from their throne and follow up ?
Just curious....
Don't believe everything you think....
