Tecate Immigration North Bound
My neighbors are driving a car up to San Diego to leave there and returning on Alaska Air. They have FM2's and will need to check out before crossing.
Can anyone tell me about the immigration office location and parking situation when north bound?
My recollection is that the office is on the right side of the entry gates when southbound. But I've never tried to access it from the Mexican side.
One more question. What hours are they open for immigration services?

Tell them to drive through going north, park and walk back.

The U.S. (northbound) gate and the Mexican (southbound) gate are not next to each other anymore, and there is no short drive between them... I would
say that Dennis has the right idea (unless they get into trouble leaving Mexico for a few minutes before getting an exit stamp?).

I do it all the time. Besides, how would they know? Nobody's following them.

Can they walk across right at the old crossing site near immigration?

Plenty of easy parking on the North side. Less than a block to immigration. Ron

I think so. The exit from US Customs goes right by there. It's been so long since I went south through Tecate, I'm not sure of much. Better wait for
a definitive answer on that one.

After you clear customs with your car, there's a parking lot on the west side of the road, very close to the walking entrance into Mexico. Immigration
is right there. After getting your stamp, you have to cross the road and go through the walkin customs to get back into the US. Doable but time
consuming.
