Lunch with Bob H at JJ's on Miramar Rd. and more!

June 23, 2011... Bob H suggested we meet at a favorite place of his on Miramar Road in San Diego (by the Miramar Air Base). I was anxious to see the newest AAA Baja map (2010) that Bob had picked up and I had no work yesterday, so a trip south was in order!

The restaurant is JJ's at 7094 Miramar Road, at Distribution. It serves breakfast and lunch (open to 3 pm) and is famous for their Philly Cheesesteak and Italian Beef Dip sandwiches. We each had the Philly sandwitches and ordered them with some incredible fries... it was delicious!

Looking good!

Good call Bob! I don't get that far south too often, but I would like to try the Italian Dip sandwich next time... if it is half as good as the Philly, it should be awesome!

A look at the 2010 Baja map revealed it only to be a reprint of the 2007 edition. So, don't be too worried about missing new stuff.

Did you guys know that Baja Angel and I adopted? Meet Maverick, an American Shorthair (we think)...

Trip map in our office... Baja Angel and I have our computers in one of our rooms here, and on the door is a map with all the Baja roads we have been on together (Jan. 2005 to now):

Still plenty more roads in Baja to travel on! One thing, I need to show Elizabeth the rest of Baja... she has not been south of Ligui (Loreto area) yet!

Adios amigos!

I really enjoyed our lunch visit. We need to do it again when you come back down south, for the Chicago style Italian Beef sandwich.... to die for!!!

The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.

Thanks!

If I included all the roads in Baja I have been on since 1965... well... there still would be a lot of roads I haven't been on! LOL
