Hey people this in nothing new in the Texas border area. Incidents like this happen alot. Some time ago a Mexican Navy helicopters violate us air space all the time. Same reasons always given, "We were lost" blah blah blah. To me not a big deal, but maybe our state department should make it one, because if OUR military was to enter mexico it would be a very big deal. Just my opinion.

Could be, but probably only as a matter of procedure. I doubt they kept them long or the world would have known about it.

These mistakes are made in public so there has to be some chest-thumping involved. They can't just open a box of beer and welcome them like any other tourist. Sht-happens.

Hey Mulegena..........when the press starts lying about the day's events, send up the red flag, but as long as they stick to the facts, regardless of how they spin them, lets let the First Ammendment take care of it. We shouldn't be telling the press how to do their job because what you may end up with is no press at all.

Actually it happens more than you think, but things get settled right there without a problem.

Jeeeeezo.....these arn't invasions.

Yes, November 1999. It was one Marine MP going to pick up service men held at the border but got crossed up in traffic. The Mexicans made a BIG deal about it with the usual posturing and chest thumping howls about Mexican sovereignty. It took a while to get the Marine back, He was held in prison for a couple of weeks. The negotiation for his release had to go al the way to Presidents Clinton and Zedillo to get the 4-9 year prison term dropped.

We are all proud of you and thank you for your service Ed. But going into Iraq/ Afghanistan will always be a big and costly mistake IMHO. Bin-Laden was sitting in a nice house in Pakistan...
