I know what I got. I don’t have to go to the doc, take any tests, it’s Lime Disease. I’ve had it before, in the summers mostly.
It’s my own fault because I let it sneak up on me. I buy limes at the local stores, Lynda gets the big green ones at Costco and my neighbor’s tree
drops a ton of the little yellow Mexican limes all year round.
They’re good in Bloody Marys, freshen up iced tea, give a pleasant little lift to a Coke or Pepsi. I squirt em on my mangos, drizzle em on my
avocadoes. I use em on fish filets, shrimp tacos and as a refreshing salad dressing with a little EVOO.
The symptoms start slow:
Dry mouth. A growing thirst for anything wet with ice rum, vodka, something sweet and a dash of lime juice.
Lethargy. Usually following Dry mouth I seek out a dark, cool, quiet place to rest.
Apathy. After my siesta a general feeling of wellbeing comes over me but with a loss of passion about most subjects.
We have a nice clinic here but it is staffed by teenagers from Mexico so I have a hard time making a clear connection with them over
symptoms/treatment. I went on line a couple of times but they keep sending me to pictures of nasty looking bugs. I guess I’ll just have to muddle
through till it cools off a little down here.

Always miss our "arbol de limones" when we're not in Cabo. We're usually there in the summer and it's always producing...right out the front door of
our camper! Hubby and girls make limonada...I use it like you, Osprey!
My young-ins are very Mexican, it goes in their soups, on their corn, on their mangos and jicama (with Tajin of course)...yum! Hubby always tells
them they're making limonada in their soup, cause they squeeze 2-3 per bowl! One of my best purchases in CSL is my hand-held lemon squeezer! Enjoy!
I take fresh limes on boats...and long distance driving.
It was 20 plus years ago....in Cozumel ...we were fishing off the Playa del Carmen area, my boy was getting sea sick big time. Our skipper saw my poor
kid in distress...he came to us with a lime..punch through the skin with his thumbnail...and told Jas to smell deeply from the opened lime.
He was no longer sick!

Egads, the little Key Limes are a fact of life here on the peninsula, but after spending a couple of weeks in California, you would think there was no
such thing. They kept trying to sell those things that are the size of oranges and have a whole different taste. Try to make good margaritas with
those things and it tastes pretty crappy.
Mine are coming ripe right now and I think I have Osprey's disease too as I am trying hard to use them all up before they go bad.
Pescador.
Leave them on the tree till you use them. They only last a couple of days after being picked and get hard as a rock. They seem to last on the tree for
a long time, even after they yellow. I use the yellow ones that fall of the tree first. They're sweeter and make great margies.
