Patient Rights

Anyone as a patient can request that no information be given out. In the case of the patient in Maneadero, he did not specifically request that and in fact welcomed the sharing of his information (he had given a full report to the Mexican Police) and asked me to call his family and the American Consulate so he could get the money to be transported to the States as quickly as possible. There have been patients in the hospital who request that the wife and the mistress have separate visiting times, and as patient advocates, we must comply as much as possible with patient wishes (obviously not telling the wife that the mistress is coming up a certain hour and to not show up at that time!!) and when sharing of information is critical between physicians and medical personnel for treatment of the patient and for payment/insurance purposes (also for HIV tests, they only put numbers on them and not names in the US, not, however in Mexico.)

What the PBBB did, actually didn't do, with Janene's post was self serving to a lie in order to protect a tranquil image of Punta Banda and Baja. They chose silence over disclosure.

Furthermore, the good Doctora has been maligned on the PBBB in the past for having an opinion sometimes contrary to the usual brain dead attitude of the local expat rank and file of the board, that Mexico healthcare is perfect, and she has been attacked on the board with full approval of Vince and his wife.
It got to the point that it was appropriate to trash her on the board when all she wanted to do was give assistance and this attitude was even evident after her gracious work for Ron and Chris.
These attacks, by the way, were posted with approval of the administrators. Everything is.
I don't ever want to hear here that she is unqualified in her position as a medical expert. She deserves nothing but gratitude for her pro bono submissions here and on PBBB.

What the PBBB needs is a fresh realization that they are here to serve a full plate of information and not just the dessert.

The only posts that are excised are those that are irrelevant or offensive. In this particular instance, after we spoke with the landlord and "the patient," we learned that this particular episode was a repeat of a drunken brawl among "friends." And once the good practitioner learns the right address to send her messages to and/or posts her own unghostwritten material, we'll probably see more of her wisdom on the board. Even with that, one could argue that she's had considerable exposure on the board already.

??? The following message was allowed to be posted on the PBBB on Oct 30th:
Subject: Punta Banda Bulletin Board Punta Estero History ... 11 years

Eleven years ago a huge event took place here. Much is still available on the web, some with odd spins on the facts, and a few that are more realistic.
http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id...

The link reports how Jorge Cortina , and others, evicted people from their homes 11 years ago.
I attempted to post the following resonse that they apparently felt was offensive to one of their constant advertiserers and thereby rejected:

"This is the same Jorge Cortina del Valle that now operates the La Marina restaurant where Mission Pizza used to be and rented from him.":?::?::?:
