Dear Discover Baja Members,

First of all---we STILL don't have specifics about the sea FMMs. Guidelines SHOULD be out in the next 10 days and AS SOON AS we know anything, we will let you know.

Thanks for your patience.

Heard there is a meeting this week with Mex IMM
re: fishing visa. The way I know it, to board a Sportfishing
in San Diego and fish the n. coast of Baja or to run
a private boat into Mex to fish the same area, both need
the temp Fishing visa, issued at a few places in SD.
The traditional border 180 day fmm will not work,
if boarding a boat while in Mex or launching a private
boat from Mex soil the 180 day will work. Read of a
couple guys going below Ensenada last week, stopped
at Mex IMM at TJ got the free 7 day fmm, no problem, a couple
days later someone tried to do the same, was told
by Mex IMM they would issue a free 7 day fmm if
they were not going so. of Rosarito, if going so. of
Rosartio they need the 180 fmm. I guess it would be
asking way too much for Mex IMM to have something
in writing and apply it in a consistant manner, but
what the
heck it is Mex

Land entry is the same as it has always been. If you come by water, then the new regs apply.
