Jealous of the hubby...

My hubby had some time off work (well, he got laid off for a month or so)..., so he went South! His brother drives an 18-wheeler Thermo-king up from La Paz to TJ every week with a load of fish. Hubby happended to catch his bro in TJ, ready to head home, so he hitched a ride down the Baja.

First call I got, he was at his mommie's house in La Paz eating tortillas de harina, queso de rancho, ajuacates, and frijoles (of course)!

Called a couple of nights later, he was at another brother's house in Cabo San Lucas, eating fresh tamales.

Last night, he'd just returned from his cousin's rancho, on the outskirts of La Paz. Think he mentioned carne asada and homemade tortillas de harina!

When he left, he didn't have much money with him, but I told him, don't worry, they'll treat you like a king....everyone will want to feed you! (can I call it or what!)

I think he was heading back to CSL today, maybe to go fishing with some of his old buddies. All I can say, is that I wish I was there!!

I asked him when he was coming home, and he said, "Well, you know Carnaval is in La Paz, soon!"

I'm glad that he's home with his family and having a good vacation. The last time he went down was in Dec. 2009, for his father's funeral, so I can't begrudge him much! He had to work the last 2 summers while my daughters and I made trips south. He even missed his nieces wedding on the beach in Cabo last year....good thing I went to represent the family...and bring 2 of the flower girls!

Hopefully we can all make it down in the summer!

Nice route his brother has! The fresh Tortilla Highway. :)

I'll feed you Diver! But my guests laugh a my cooking. Something about having to wait outside until the smoke clears before going inside to eat.

Heather, I hope your hubby has a great time and that you all get to visit Baja together SOON.

And Diver, you are more than welcome to return to our place and cook dinner for us again----I like the arrangement. We provide the kitchen, the shower and you provide the dinner.

Works for me!
