Misc. Pix -- Hot & Bright Day at San Simeon

This little guy popped up to say hello!

This guy thought about sneaking away.

But he got an itch

And then he had just an angry face!

Not a lot of elephant seals at this time. Only a couple of females left and a few younger males and babies not ready to swim away.

The ones there were miserable with the heat and bright sun! They couldn't throw enough sand over their bodies!

But this little one seemed to have a smile on his face.

This male is not fully grown and it looks like someone has been carving on his skin!

Bright and warm and always a nice place to be.

We love the central coast...we are already talking about our annual spring trip after we head to San Ignacio. Wonderful pics. Our favorite campsite just a bit north...

Thanks everyone --- it was a fun day. Sunman----beautiful--GREAT light.

Mexitron, if I remember correctly, I think the walkway was built 2 or 3 years ago and yes, it is for viewing the seals. There is one at both ends of the parking lot. We were talking with one of the docents and he said it has been great for protecting the plant life and to help stop some people from doing some really dangerous things with the seals.
