When Imodium does not work:

From one of my Traveling WiW's: On my trip to Burundi I was prescribed Azithromycin 500 mg to take once a day for three days but only when Imodium did not work. I must say you know you’re in trouble when Imodium doesn’t work.

Azithromycin 500 mg worked just fine!

BTW I asked the guide, an attorney and citizen of Burundi, what I should do if I need medical attention while in Burundi. His immediate reaction was “Leave the country”. He advised that depending on the problem, Rwanda is an adjacent country but why not go to Brussels where good treatment is available.:lol::lol:

Traveling on the mainland, my 8 yr. old son came down with a stomach bug that caused him to not keep anything in at both ends for 3 days. We stopped in Culiacon and the pharmacist handed me the smallest white round pill I had ever seen. Had to keep my eye on it in my palm while walking back to the van.
Gave it to my son and 3 hours later he was hungry and held it down! No problems from then on and still 25 years later!
