A Mexican fisherman and I were discussing draught and influence of the moon on El Nino one day. Here's some interesting reading for weather geeks for today's event:

We were talking about hurricane prediction!

Don't know much about fishing, but the last time the earth was this close was 1993 - so get out those old tuna journals! The TOPP site has done some work tracking ocean predators and has some interesting graphics, tuna tracking animation and reading:
