Yes, I can see how that would be a sobering experience. A number is just a number but when you see the headstones it turns that number into something tangible. I remember seeing the Viet Nam Memorial for the first time. I had no idea what 58,195 meant until I saw those names carved in stone. It gives me the shivers just thinking about that moment of realization again. I like the first photo a lot.
