According to Tiburon Ballena BDLA's facebook, the whale sharks have arrived in Bahia de Los Angeles too! I think this is going to be a good season.

"Tiburon Ballena BDLA
reportando la presencia de tiburon ballena por parte de el grupo de monitoreo , desde el 26 de mayo dentro de la Bahia de los Angeles , 5 dias antes de inicio de la temporada , pronto colocaremos las boyas delimitando el area ."

Thanks Bob & Susan, these are beautiful animals. I'll never forget being with my mother-in-law "mom" in Los Barriles and seeing a whale shark "so close you could it touch it ". Right from our Bayliner. She was 86 then. She's 90 now and still hard to keep up with!

Whomever claimed "fish are stupid" has never encountered a whale shark. They become curious especially about humans in the water. IMHO the Mexican government should recognize this and make sanctuaries, and a new blossoming formal "Whale Shark" tourist industry appear.

Don't they normally come to Bahia in October? What does this mean when they arrive early? The Pacific does seem very warm this year.

The whale shark/eco tourism business is in effect in Bahia de Los Angeles. This is the flag that the pangas are supposed to fly showing that they have their paperwork in order to take out tourists.
