Gated Communites

Many people on this board have opinions about gated communites, but today the gates saved my dogs.

Someone going in and out through our house gated property today did not close/lock it, The wind from the ocean blew the gate open and our dogs were running loose.

A neighbor called me and I recovered all except the one-eyed, deaf white Great Dane.

He came to the gate, but I couldn't get it unlocked fast enough, so he wandered away.

A new neighbor saw me sitting outside, waiting for the dog and asked what was going on and if she could help. I explained that the dog was deaf and had only one eye and that I was blind, so I couldn't look for him in the dark.

She replied. "He's sitting on the cliff."

I asked her to bring him to me, telling her that he was very friendly.

She did and he was.

I owe this lady a lot, will take her out to a meal of her choice.
