MC tour of the 4 corners (added photos)
six states, 9 days, four friends
I just returned from a 9 day tour of the four corners. With 3 friends all on motorcycles, we camped 3 of the days. My friends all live in Northern
Cal, so we decided to meet in Beaver, UT, just west of Bryce/Escalante/Capitol Reef. After a night at the Super 8, we spent the first day winding our
way thru the Utah Canyon country ending up in Blanding, UT.
The next day, we rode up Dolores Canyon from Cortez, CO , stopping for lunch in Telluride. After a few 10,000’ passes we finished our day in Durango
where we camped for the night. The next day took us to Santa Fe through Chama and Taos. We camped for 2 nights in SF doing a day ride around the
mountains east of Taos, and eating at 2 of my favorite spots.
Thursday we turned the beasts for home through the “res” visiting the Hubble trading post, Hopiland and checking into a motel in Page. We split up
the next day with me heading south to Prescott via the south rim of the Grand Canyon and home the next day. My friends headed to Tonopah and spent
the night then off to their respective homes.
None of us had problems with our bikes, and only one of us was awarded a “performance award”. I not saying who the lucky one was. Only the first day
and the last day of the trip was hot (105+), otherwise we were riding in 70-80 degree weather at an average of 6000’.
(by the way Dennis, the natives were friendly) ;-)

I spent the first night in the Nipton Hotel just south of Primm.
right next to these, the ear plugs in the room give you a clue of what is to come..........
on MC trips I only take the camera with one "walk around lense", in this case a Tamron 18-270mm.
Bryce Canyon at 9:30 am, is about 2 1/2 hours late for the prime photo shooting hour.
Dolores Canyon

carousel turn at 8000' just east of Chama
Two things I always do when in the Santa Fe area. Eat at the Rancho de Chimayo on the High Road to Taos, and have a margarita at the Hotel La Fonda
in SF.
Taking a break on a hot one, the only shade to be had in about 60 miles, Glamis.

What a fun trip! I love that area. What's not to like, right? It's so beautiful. Nice pics too!

Thanks! My comrades rewarded me with dinner that night in that I was riding lead and was the sacrificial lamb.
