Side trips
Guys I thought it would be fun to share some fun must do's or must see side trips on the way down or up on 1. I am thinking within 30 mins of the
main road.
A couple of mine and my kids favorites.
Cave paintings at Catavina, just a couple minutes off the rd.

San Javier is a must Now that the road is paved up to the valley. A bit more than 30 minutes but worth the trip.

When we are coming from the south, we usually have a swim at the oasis just south of the San Ignacio turnoff...this little place is called Los Alamos
and a sweet spot for a dip or lunch...they have BBQ's there too.

Mission San Fernando is just a couple miles off the pavement and a nice diversion. Not a lot left of it anymore but it's a nice little valley and you
can continue beyond the mission and do a little exploring.

I think the trees that grow only in the lava flows between San Ignacio and Santa Rosalia are very cool

We love picking random dirt roads, driving down them a bit, and having a picnic. The kids get to run around and we enjoy the fresh air. We've
discovered a number of cool areas this way.

N Catavina rock piles! Many different roads and all are impressive. Great camping or just an hour rest stop! La Virgen and road out to the coast.
I'm not tellin my favorite. Tio
