Ensenada to Puerto Penasco (rocky point)
How would you drive from Ensenada to Puerto Penasco?
Cross to US side at Tecate or stay on MX side all the way? Anyone that has done it either way, please comment.

Go Mex. #3 towards San Felipe,
then north on Mex. #5 to BC #4,
east across the Colorado River to Son. #40,
south to almost El Golfo de Santa Clara,
then the new highway to Puerto Peņasco
It may be slightly shorter to go north to Tecate, then south from Mexicali... but the tolls are pricey, much more traffic, and a big mountain grade
down to the desert would have me go through Valle Trinidad and San Matias Pass... just as William Walker did when he tried to invade Sonora after
proclaiming himself President of the Republic of Baja California and then Sonora!

talking an hour difference? Thanks David

You know in Mexico it's really not about the time, but I get what you are asking... If it was me and I was in Ensenada and wanted to go to Puerto
Peņasco, I would go via Valle de Trinidad, no question.
