SISTERS OF MERCY 2012 ANNUAL TOY DRIVE SPONSORED BY SPLASH 2 RESTAURANT

(KM 32 on TJ-Ensenada Free Rd across from OXXO)

By Anne Hines Nov. 18, 2012

The Sisters of Mercy have ministered in Mexico since 1980. Initially, Ruth Hotz RSM and Lucina Kozeny RSM worked with economically poor families in Rosarito, Baja California, in providing housing, food, clothing, and household items.

A long standing tradition is the Sisters of Mercy Annual Christmas Posada, held in mid December at the Sisters of Mercy compound for the 2,000+ children who line up before 6AM to receive a gift along with fruit and candy.

This may be the only gift these children receive.

All of this would not be possible without the generosity of the expatriate community, and support of local businesses in Rosarito.

The 2012 Annual Toy Drive will be held at Splash Restaurant on Thursday, December 6 from 1 to 5PM, hosted by Ann Platenberg & Chuck Drouet.

Come and enjoy an afternoon filled with fun and good will, surrounded by joyful people. Raffles, Music, and DELCIOUS Free Food donated by Splash 2 included.

Please bring your unwrapped toys to this event, or drop them off at Rene's Mailroom, Cruz Roja Thrift Store, or Splash Restaurant, located at km 52, 3 miles south of Puerto Nuevo.

For further info call Ann Plantenberg at (661) 614-0498; e-mail ann4baja@yahoo.com; or Chuck Drouet at (661) 614-0580.
