It was a very Feliz Navidad in Asuncion

As always, we spent Christmas eve with Juan's family who gather from far and wide to be together to share food and music. Bajagypsy arrived in the nick of time with a fantastic present for the family...they brought a cooler of fresh SNOW from Saskatchewan! It was awesome watching Tio Javier and his family making snowballs and throw them...they had never seen snow before.

Iflyfish made lots of new friends, learned to cumbia and is culturally immersing nicely!

the menudo fire kept everyone warm and was delicioso

los musicos played till dawn...I dont know how they do it! Hre are some of Juan's sisters bailando a gusto.

As tradition dictates, we all gather for more menudo Christmas morning...er more like...afternoon by the time people wake up.

Then a bunch of us went to the pantheon to have a beer with Surfdoc Stan. We passed around a bottle of tequila and told stories about ole Stan who we all miss dearly while the kids put flowers on his grave. It was a moving sunset gathering and we all enjoyed being there to honour our departed amigo.

then we carried on to David & Nancy's casa for turkey potluck dinner. It was a lively Nomad affair with old and new nomad friends including Iflyfish, Skipjack, Nan&;D, Bajagypsy, bajafam, Zoe and the newest nomad we welcomed to the fold...skipowell who were a delight to get to know.

Here we are feelin the LOVE.....

Jeff learned some licks from Juan and taught him a thing or two too...

here is Ifly doing some bonding with bajarat

It was a wonderful gathering with incredible food and I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many loving characters.

I hope all our nomad friends and familia had a great Christmas...now for the New Year's party planning!

How beautiful, the gathering and the good friends and good heart.

Wonderful to see everyone together with so much love!
Deep thoughts of Stan, too.
I join you all in spirit, an' wish th' heck I was there playin' drum!
