Jupiter and La Luna inches apart in the sky............

Neil deGrasse Tyson says:

The Moon enjoys a one-night-stand with Jupiter this night. A mere finger-width apart, their tryst is bold bodacious & bright.

I just took a gander with my 8x Steiner binoculares.

Kind of looks like One or 2 of Jupiter's moons are visible too, thought I might have been smoking something.

Yah, I saw them paired up, but thought you were trying to post a PHOTO so those who don't have clear weather or live in a city could also see it.

Yup it was a pretty cool close pairing for sure!! I took a pic of Jupiter last night too, nobody got a DSLR wide pic with the 2 of them?

The bright spot in the Jupiter pic is its moon Io transiting in front of it, the process does not take long only about an hour and its traveled across the disc!

As the moon orbits the earth, it was no longer next to Jupiter last... When Jupiter was straight up (12 o'clock high), the moon was about 11 o'clock (the east horrizon is 9 o'clock).
