What about Tijuana to San Luis RC instead of Algodones? By Los Chinos do you mean El Chinero or the Hwy. 3 & 5 junction?

And now we have pavement going all the way to Santa Agueda and most of the way to San Jose de Magdelena. Also a lot of pavement going in to San Javier, so the poll needs some updating. I mean geez, they even have pavement to my house in the little village where I live.

Thanks... I did forget about the paved San Javier road... and now that I think of it, the road into San Jose de Comondu (from the highway north of Insurgentes to La Purisima).
Another is the paved highway to San Juanico (Scorpion Bay) from Las Barrancas, which is off that same road.

What happened to our beloved Baja California???

The survey mechanics didn't turn out so hot, but it evoked the responses I was looking for.

Look for survey crews plotting the route from (near) Vizcaino to Insurgentes, for a wide two lane road. The SCT engineer I talked to said it would knock off a minimum of seven hours travel time Tijuana to La Paz and on to the capes. Supposed to Join with Mex 19.

Interesting indeed. The Vizcaino to La Purisima bypass was proposed back in '73 but the outrage of the towns that would lose business was the excuse for shelving that project.

Hmm, lets see:
Tecate and Tijuana to Ensenada
Ensenada to Cabo
Cabo to La Paz
Hwy 1 to Abreojos
Hwy 1 to Asuncion/Bahia Tortuga
San Ignacio Lagoon Road
Several semi-lost wanderings in Ensenada, La Paz and Tijuana
I think that they're paving roads faster than I can find time to drive them!

You should come back north using the Hwy. 5 route... meet Coco before he is bypassed, see Gonzaga Bay (lunch or dinner at Alfonsina's), the view point of the Enchanted Islands, and Shell Island if it's low tide... lol (otherwise Percebu)!
