La Fonda sold.

George is the new owner along with 4 others including his wife. Nice people. He was the head golf pro at Bajamar and has spent a lot of time in Baja Norte over the years.

He will keep the place as is except for a few cosmetic tune ups. Mostly backstage.

His wife is planning on expanding on the spa facility that Sara had started.

Mr. D said he will be around for awhile. He is currently developing some property they own in La Mision valley.

We had 56 people for dinner at 9 tables and no one got ripped off, overcharged or otherwise hassled, punked, dissed, shorted. Everyone had a fabulous dining experience. :P

Sorry to ask what may be a newbie pregunata, but this isn't the 'La Fonda' restaurant on Calle Bravo in La Paz, is it? Dined there last Monday night and it was a real treat.

la fonda

We had a marvelous brunch there this last Sunday morning and met one of the new owners. Good food and service, no rats seen only a chicken with her chicks and a cat named Sylvester watching the little chickens very closely. I can only guess improvements on some of the resturaunts "weaker" points. By the way to the guy above, its on Highway 1 between Ensenada and Rosarita Beach.

I only hope that those fanstastic Sunday brunch days will continue! Unlimited bloody Mary's, yes.
