Telmex DSL speed

If Telmex is your DSL provider, you might want to check the speed you're experiencing versus the speed you're paying for. We subscribe to 5Mbps and our download speed is around 1.7Mbps. When we inquired, we were told that 1.7 is all that the local Telmex equipment can provide. They will update our neighborhood one of these days. In the meantime, we will get 1.7Mbps regardless of whether we're paying for 3, 5 or 10Mbps.

There's no point in paying for a higher speed than the neighborhood Telmex equipment can provide.

You can check your speed at www.speakeasy.net
