David,
I know that Trolls usually don't like the daylight  , but I have been held upon threat of waterboarding if I didn't provide some reasonable facsimile of your mug....and let folks know who to look out for. :saint:

I have tried making nice and frequently complement your posts as long as you don't hurt the locals by saying unkind things about them or their father, as you did about San Borja with your as always great photos. Most or all of which you removed when I questioned the purpose of hurting their livelihood.

Don't let a little support go to your head DK, even though Diana felt the need to take one more slap at you while saying that she was quitting the "gang of five" she said she was going to ignore your posts and hopped that you would do the same. The higher road would have been for you to ignore it. Put away your shovel, stop digging....

Curious, what do you see as the one more "slap"? It really does not matter, but I am curious. Was it that I stated the fact that he has called me a liar more than once, or perhaps the heartfelt statement that he is not worth the time of day. Yes, he should not have responded as I should have not responded to this.

Gang of five? Wow -- good one. I guess I now am an official part of a group.

I asked myself the questions as you encouraged me to do skipjack. My observations are that there is a small group of people that like to bash DK. There are lots of reasons for this: DK can be annoying at times, he can come across as a "know it all" (he does know more about Baja than most), he shares his opinion on potentially controversial topics and he makes a lot of posts with lots of words, pictures and opinions.

I really don't agree that there are people who enjoy bashing DK. There is little enjoyment in it. They would rather not do it. Some feel that the positives he brings to the board outweigh the annoyances. Others are far more irritated by it all.

I also diagree about the quality of DK's posts. Yes, there are lot of posts but very few words. It's mostly bumps, atta boys, and 'that's great'. They're typically very light on content. Trip reports are usually a record of places stopped and the miles between them. I have yet to read of any impression anything made on any trip.

And DK's political rants are beyond distasteful. Talk about hate and bashing. There is more venom in them than just about anything else on this board. But we are told it's done in the name of 'balance' somehow. You just roll your eyes.

So Igor, what's the deal... ? Does my using Nomad more take away from anyone's ability to post? No! Same thing with the economy, more people getting rich doesn't mean there's less for others. It isn't like a pie with only so many pieces to give out. Nomad, (and our economy) is wide open... the more we read (use) the better it gets, and the more people benefit.

Bullies pick on nerds, and no doubt that I am a Baja nerd. I have never recalled calling anyone here a liar, but may have offered information that is counter to what they posted in the hopes that truth and facts will outweigh the rants and emotion we see sometimes.

IF I ever did call anyone a "liar", I apologize for using that word and my only excuse would be it was done in some angry, defensive retort. I am sorry. I have tried to make nice with Diana T before, and it didn't work then. So I won't hold my breath that she wants a truce.

Igor, can you actually find a 'political rant' by me that wasn't simply a balance to something already posted that was way out in 'left field'? This is a discussion board, and not just the Baja DNC sounding forum, right? If the liberal ideology is posted first, it is only fair that equal time be heard.... in a democracy, anyway.

Back to Baja... let's hope!

Beautiful Photo --- reminds me of the J. R. R. Tolkien quote, “Not all those who wander are lost.” Sometimes too much information can spoil the sense of adventure.
