thanks Bill...oh I'm always happy to receive ID's on any whale that crosses your path! especially Killer Whales. The size we use for the catalogue is 4 inches wide & 1.5 in tall like in the examples I posted. If you just send me the photo I can crop it...but please resize it so a manageble email file jpeg.

Really nice shots, Bill.

Those grey whale forays are on my "forever bucket list"!

Is this the same whale?

Nice photos, Bill. It looks like it was a bit lumpy out there for the first few shots.

Are the wahoo gone now?

Chris.....Those first whales were just past the point of the island on the Pacific side, and there was a little bump. A quarter mile, or so, farther west the channel shoals and there are usually a couple of lines of waves. That is the dicey area when going on outside. When those waves are breaking it often takes a while to work your way through, or sometimes prudence dictates a change of plans and a day fishing around the mangroves in the estero rather than chasing pelagics on the Ridge.
The wahoo moved on south last year in early December. They'll be back around the first of September, plus or minus a couple of weeks, when the SST climbs back up into the 70s.
