Chillin in San Roque

Mi esposo Juan fishes for abalone out of the little fish camp of San Roque, where he was born and raised on the island. We stay in their family cabin his grandaddy built. It has a wonderful beach view!

It is like going on vacation for me as I get to lay in the hammock and read, walk on the beach, wander around looking for arrowheads, make jewellery, kayak and just bum around. Me and the dogs go to church regularly...it's very photogenic.

sometimes friends drop in for a visit...

the kids and I were looking for gold dubloons...didnt find any but Erin found a pretty cool bone...

here is Juan getting home from work bringing the abalone to the truck

Yesterday some crazy kite boarders from Los Barilles camped here and we fed them fresh abalone..they introduced me to "fogs" which I quite liked...a corona with a shot of tequila poured on top and some lime...turns out they are from Courtney area on Vancouver Island!

Here are my latest creations of dolphin tooth necklaces

We love exploring around the area...just a heads up...if you decide to go around a vigilancia gate, watch out for these nasty tire punchers...

come on out for a visit if you are in the barrio!
