Our dog Tito loves the beach, but isn't crazy about the water. His favorite activity in the world is chasing and being chased by other dogs. I can't wait to bring him to Todos Santos.

He doesn't like going in the water or swimming (which is good, cause he's got epilepsy), the sand hurts his feet, its hot, there is no shade, you cant drink the water, the bushes are stickery, the waves are scary, its a long drive, there is no big comfy bed... He is a "talker" so he lets you know about this alot.

He does like growling and barking at the soldados at the checkpoints (Se Muerde!), or anyone else that gets too close to his rig. It does make going through the checkpoints a little faster

Any correlations between epilepsy and tetrodotoxin?

He finds um back at the high tide trash line, both spiny and smoothskin, and he scarfs um down before you can get it out of his mouth.

Tetrodotoxin??

Tetrodotoxin interferes with the transmission of signals from nerves to muscles and causes an increasing paralysis of the muscles of the body

Our baja rescue dog "Mooney" doesn't really like going IN the water, but try going ON the water without her, and you've got trouble. The minute she sees a paddle/surf board out she is way ahead of the game....

Mooney makes getting on the board a bit difficult at times...

She is persistent, swimming out a bit if necessary...she's good for my balance skills.

She usually gets her way and goes for a ride.

The same holds true for boat rides...here she is wondering why she can't have her turn...

She's the ultimate surfer girl...

and party girl...

and she rides quads too. She's an all around baja girl.

I don't have a dog but I like it when a dog adopts me for a beach day. These are Shari and Juan's dogs Cafe and Shami hanging out.

This is not a washed up carcass. It's Cafe relaxing after eating my beef jerky.

Our Baja dog Mooney has a brother dog. He is a Boerboel. His real name is "Carter", but his military check point name is "Toogy" or "Don Tonto".

Toogy loves to chase his ball on the beach. Here they are getting a reminder of the rules...playing hard of hearing and running in the opposite direction is not allowed, nor is dropping the ball next to something dead, rolling in it, and/or scarfing it down.

Unlike my English Mastiff Rhubarb, who LOVED to swim, Toogy only goes out so far before asking for help with his ball. He's kind of a wimp like that.

"Oh Daaad, you're the one who threw it out there in the first place!"

"You're almost there, common dad, you can do it!"

"You got it!"

He uses rocks for pillows. I can't tell if he's not really the sharpest guy, or if he has us all fooled...

He knows enough to cool off in front of the fan on a hot summer night...the look on his face tells it all.

He makes a good butt rest... and window booster seat...

He's as big as a horse and we love him.
