Baja came to San Diego today

Yes it did! First I had lunch with Chuck Potter and David K. It was so fun watching David talk about places, people and things--naturally in and from Baja. What was a real trip was watching Chuck relive those things about Baja that he had not visited for 35 or 40 years. We spent a couple of hours over a nice lunch and thoroughly enjoyed each others company.
Then we went up to the Barnes and Nobles Book store to meet an author I have been touting for some time--Daniel Reveles who has written three of the funniest books--Enchiladas, Rice and Beans, Salsa and Chips( now out of print) and his latest--Tequila, Lemon, and Salt (published by our friends at Sunbelt). Just the titles will give you a clue about his humor. Daniel has such a grasp of the people and magic of Baja that I was amazed when he confided that he had lived in Tecate for over 30 years and has never traveled in Baja.
All three of these books belong in any true Baja Lovers collection.
A wonderful man who now claims to be only 94 years old. His books will transport you into a Magic Kingdom nestled in the small village of Tecate Baja California.

He also offers the fact that he has never met a Tequila that he did not like. It is very easy to believe him even when you realize that he is spinning a little 'magic.'

My smidgen of a claim to fame is that I have had so many really good friends. By Bernie Swaim December 2007
