Nice pictures
Great pictures Russ. I have a picture of my cousin and I surfing in front of our home at Punta Chivato down in shell beach, during a July chubasco.
It was 2-3 and pure wind blown but a lot of fun and and great way to cool down..

My anchorage for the tournament would not have been much fun.
How often does it blow from that direction, Russ?

these south winds don't last...
I imagine a lot of sea weed is on the beach now
the north winds are more constant
in the summer these south wind are the hardest and sometimes bring rain
they come and go

You're right, Eric is gone. the high winds we're having this morning are from at storm cell from the other side and not a spin off of Eric. but it's
cloudy and maybe we'll get some needed rain???

At Chivato, the summer season brings a predominately south swell which goes from about Mid-May through September. The North winds do not start until
November usually. Bouyweather looks like a broken record with windswell directions and it stays that way until fall.
The pics that Russ put up are the extra swell that comes when a storm blows it up a little harder than normal.
Hook had his boat tucked in behind the hotel and close to the boat ramp but even that area gets Southeast swell when the wind comes up.

imagine all of the "Blue Moon" spots up in the gulf! you know, once in a Blue Moon, on the right hurricane churning up the gap. an old friend used to
talk about things such as these...... back then we thought he was crazy!
