Thanks for the Great Photos!!
The cave Photo looks like the one at deElfonso Island. After catching fish I would go in and Clean my fish there. The Pelicans would come up and take the Skins out of my Hands.

When you come right down to it, it does not matter how you fish as long as you are enjoying it!!

That Tin boat looks very much like a Panga,

The Mexicano Fisherman, The Sea of cortez and People of Loreto and Baja Sur were the best 35 years of my Life.

In all those years I fished with a Penn 40 and 40 Lb Test, except when I went after Sharks, then I used a Penn 60 with 125 Lb Line. Largest I ever caught was a 800 Lb Blue shark, The Teeth I still have hanging on my Wall here.

Good Fishing to All!!!

whisler:
In all my years fishing and living in Loreto, the best fishing for me has been up North basically off of San Nicholas about 5 miles is De Elfonso Island North of Pul Pito.

You should take an early day and look into the Area. There is also a great Reef abbout 35 miles North on a heading of 035 where you can experience some of the best fishing in the World.

Alvarro Murillos family started there when Pappa Murillo was given the Land on the beach after fighting in the War. I lived there for about 4 years, The only American.

There is another Island south of Catalana.. Also on the South West side of Carmen before you get to the Tip there is a Very large and Deep Hole that does not seem to have a Bottom. All kinds of fish.

Good Luck!

Skeet,

I love reading all your reports and observations, great stuff from one of the true BAJA BOYS.

I just had one comment/observation of my own, in regards to the island up north you refer to. I believe its spelled Isla San ldelfonso. Maybe that's what is throwing Whistler??? I live in Mulege and fish it often. Still good fishing at times. I love pulling up to the island in the morning, kind of reminds me of the movie 'King Kong' when the fog is in...

Sorry about the spelling. At 83 years I am getting to where the fingers go to the wrong keys.

Whistler:

The Island is located 5 miles off of San Nicholas and 5 miles North of Pulpito.
You can Google it up on Google Earth.
In all my years fishing that is my very best Location for fishing as well as Snorkling.
