Insurance

I just bought my insurance through BajaBound a little while ago. Geoff wasn't in, but I spoke to Dulce, and she got me a six month policy for $139.91. She said that when I (hopefully) get my Sentri pass, it'll be $150 for a year.

Can you post the phone number, Sue? My insurance is up next week and now that I have SENTRI I'm hoping for a serious reduction. I'm planning on BajaBound anyway, because I'd like to tell Sanborns que se vayan a la ch...alupa.

$139 for 6 mo., then $150 a yr.? Are you just carrying
liability or some other than full coverage? Drivers License
coverage, etc. I punched in my vehicle at only liability, it showed
$169 for 6 mo., with a LOW libility limit. I wouldn't buy
a Mex Ins policy with under $300,000 liability, can think
of nothing worse than being underinsured SOB if
the worse happens

I drive a 1994 Astrovan. I had full coverage on it with my US company (Mercury), but I had to take off the comp and collision until my next renewal, because I just didn't have the money to pay it. So until February, it's liability only, and I only have liability with BajaBound, also.

When my Mercury renewal comes due in February, I'll change back to full coverage.

Literally every cent that I have is going toward my move.

I've already got an apartment in Tijuana, have paid the deposit and first month's rent, and have the keys. I'm taking the first load tomorrow, and also got a storage unit for a couple of months for the winter stuff. It was half price for two months, so I got a 5'x8.'

tjsue...check the kelly blue book value of your astrovan. It may not be worth fully insuring.

No, it's not, but I like to have it, anyway.

Check with your US Carrier. Some US carriers will insure to about 75 miles south of the border....not liability though.

I have Mercury, and they only insure within the USA.
