Have camping gear?

No hotels around.

There is a new La Mision hotel on the south end of Insurgentes that would be a good stopping place - about 1 hour from Comondu.

Comondu is magical....Shari has identified a few options for a sleep that existed a year or so ago....need to ask around.

A lovely place in La Purisma an hour or so northerly (by the good road:biggrin:) :

With kind and generous owners:

Senor Pedro Gonzalez and his lovely wife Senora "Quilthy" Peralta.

Old Spanish/Native Indian Mission Pueblos.... is how they got their names and beginning...

Saint Joseph of (San José de) Comondú founded in 1708 some 20 miles away, and moved to the current town location in 1737. The stone church was the largest of all California mission churches, built in the 1750's. Its ruins were torn down in the 1930's... except for the side chapel of the original church. That is what we see today in San José Comondú.
