Tecate Beer in Bottle, in Baja

Ugh.

It was freshly delivered and cold when served at our lunch spot yesterday, but it tasted terrible.

I am no beer connoisseur (i.e., beer snob) and I like Bohemia, Dos Equis and Negra Modelo in bottle.

Tecate Light (Lite?) is better to my taste buds... but XX and Pacifico are my first choices. In Tecate they also make Mexicali Beer, and I enjoy it, too... Try it!

Would Love to Try Pacifico and Mexicali

But, I am stuck with the restaurant offerings.

Change Restos?

Sure, always looking for new places to go for good eats and beverages.

Any recommendations?

the trouble I have with Indio...and I love it...is that the bottles arent returnable...nor are the tecate in the bottles. It bugs me to have garbage cans full of non recyclable bottles that guests bring.

About Great Danes

They don't really care about driving the car.

They just want to go on the journey.

Glass recycles. Must be some place in Asuncion that does that.

FACT OR FICTION :?:

I heard the only Tecate they still bottle at the old brewery is in the large returnable bottle.
Ice cold Tecate Caguama, tin cup, hot Baja beach.......... Ahhhhhhhh
Jan, try the Caguama size and an ice cold glass and we'll wait for the report.

The caguamas are the only bottle left that Tecate allows returning for a deposit. They did away with recycling the "long necks" a couple years ago. I finally turned mine in to a pure recycler.

Gypsy Jan, I think you simply got a skunk Tecate. It ain't bad when it's fresh.

Salt and lime is for off-tasting Mexican beers like Corona and Modelo Especial (which, BTW, would be tough to tell the difference in a blind test). Very similar tasting beers from the same company. Other candidates for lime; Sol, Chihuahua. Dos XX Clara has such a SWEET aftertaste that I find it a candidate for a lime, too.

Probably gone bad/skunked from age or poor storage. Last trip down, all of October, I bought Tecate Titanium not bad at all. Bohemia and Negro Modelo are my usual "go to" beers but the best beer is always the next one.
