Hwy 5 El Faro Bridge (end of the pavement)

Has anybody noticed the erosion and cement damage to the bridge abutments on Hwy 5 at the end of the pavement on the new El Faro bridge?

Did the damage occur during the late summer storms that flooded San Felipe?

We went under the bridge to be in the shade as we re-aired up the tires on the way home last trip and noticed the damage to both the abutments, another big storm or two and that bridge will be history.

Kind of makes you wonder about all those other new bridges (and old ones!).
