Cyclist??? No!! A truck!!!

And you thought it was dangerous on Mex 1. Canadian drivers battle snowplows, not cyclists!

So, Is Goat gonna tell us the guy should have slowed down and shared the road? And IF there had been a guy on a fat bike training in the snow where would he have gone. Unforseen chit happens.
Lucky guy, only hit the guard rail. WOW :o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o

Dang that guy almost cried. He was going way too fast and didn't appear to try and slow down when he saw both lanes blocked.

Ha ha. Yeah, I guess if you live up there you're accustomed to the conditions. But I would've been going 2/3 that speed.

Of my close calls on the Baja highway, most were just like this. Someone passing in my lane when there wasn't enough sight distance. One big difference is that when I see it happening, I react INSTANTLY, unlike the guy with the camera who documented the fact that he was sound asleep! The oncoming driver should certainly be out of a job, having been caught red-handed behaving like a raving idiot.

Another big difference is that when you hit the brakes in Baja, something happens! Unlike an 80 thousand pound truck running down hill on frozen water.

The driver of the plow is the only one who goes home free in my judgement! What a nightmare scenario.

Was the driver screaming at the other guy, or himself? :smug:

Reassuring sight....

Looking up the grade you are climbing
Seeing an 18 or 22 wheeler descending
Smoke pouring from the four working brakes
The driver fighting the wheel
A bright red empty flies out the window

i bravely tell myself when my number is called and won't be me veering off into the cactus but holding my course because some marooon is in my lane. it's likely gonna hurt them as well as me!

stupidity should be painful!

i'll be damned if i'm gonna roll my truck into the desert while the chilito keeps on going without so much as a backward glance at my dust cloud and truck parts flying around.

In theory I agree with you, Woody, but I don't think I could do it.

Depends on who you hang around with. Doesn't it? Or does this have to do with how much less stupid you are than everyone around you who is constantly screaming ? :?::yes:

c'mon kids.... is it so hard to grasp? taking a grill at 60 MPH into your windshield or veering off into the "GREAT UNKNOWN?"

I owned and drove a 18 wheel truck several million miles. I have heard all that tough talk and have been guilty of the same and can tell you from personal experience when it comes right down to the wire you don't know how you will react. For me I cant ever remember the reaction being a consensuses decision.
As to the video there are people out there in those 80 Thousand pound Rigs on the Snow and Ice that don't have 48 hrs. driving tine and no experience driving on snow and ice That's the scary part.:o:o
