accident at San Lucas Cove
Second hand from Wild Bill, but apparently someone walked into one of the hooks for holding fish at the fish cleaning station at San Lucas Cove
yesterday and hooked himself in the forehead. Poor guy.... The hook went all the way through, so the guy couldn't really move. Picture that...
Dave and others came to the rescue. Unbolted the hook from the fish cleaning stand, then backed out the hook from the guys forehead. Not funny, but
man if there ever was ever a U-Tube video moment...

Ouch, ouch, ouch! That's a youtube video that I would NOT want to see! The poor guy! I hope he was drunk enough not to feel to much pain!! Hope he
didn't hook anything too important!!
Whenever I hear that rainy, chill wind blow. I think it may be time to head for Mexico. Tengo que obedecer mi corazon!

I believe this horrible accident happened in the palapa shown in upper right photo.
Sure hope this turned out okay. I've knocked myself on the forehead a couple times when entering a low doorway wearing a cap....ouch!
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

i could tell you the one about the guy who shot himself in the nostril with a 16 penny nail and he looked like a unicorn with the nail head the only
thing not exiting the skin at the top of his head, but it isn't Baja related.

Yes, that is/was the only fish display cleaning station at SLC.
It that a recent picture of one from your vast archives of fine photographs?

Not very current, I'm afraid....was two winters ago...but I don't think it's changed much. I can take another on the next swing by.

for future reference...one should NEVER remove an impaled object. Unbolting the large hook was OK...but next , should have been to immobilized in
place with a bulky dressing and head to the nearest ED or MD...a difficult task in Baja I know...but removal could have been a disaster: the hook may
have been tamponading an arterial bleed..pull the hook and get a gusher!...improper removal can do more damage on the way out than it did on the way
in...just my 2 cents as an emergency medic x 40 yrs...glad it worked out ok
