Face Book post

The Loss of a Friend and help for another. A week ago Friday, a dear friend was killed in an accident at the Mexicali east crossing. Ron Hubbell died at the scene, his wife Karen was driving when the semi truck ran the stop and entered the intersection. The impact killed Ron nearly instantly, and hurt and bruised Karen severely. Because of the accident, death and Mexican law, Karen went to the Mexicali city jail for two days. Two days she describes as "the worst days my life". Having just watched her husband of 36 years die in front of her, she was locked up in Mexicali jail for manslaughter. Karen was released two days later after spending much of the time, sleeping upright in a chair because of filth and lack of bed. Thanks to her friend Sue Atkins (formerly Sue Clark). Karen said the most important document to have, that she did not was a marriage license. Fortunately Sue was able to retrieve it from Karen San Felipe home. The document helped get Karen released and she couldn't stress enough the importance of having your marriage license readily available. Karen has lost a lot, and at this point has little more than great friends. She needs your help to get through the tough times ahead of her the next few months. We are asking anyone able to help, to either contact her directly if you know her, or you can make contributions at the Baja Good Life office in Playa de Oro. Thank you.

Wow, man, you never know.

Yes, a very, very sad event. I hope there is a follow-up as to why she was thrown in jail at a time like that? Where was her insurance agent, etc.

I've been watching this for the past couple of days. Surprised there is not more reaction to this situation... Are you thinking what I'm thinking? That you don't want to believe it?

DESERTCPL, which San Felipe area Facebook page was this on?

Haven't had a bad trip yet....
