Something new for Lopez Mateos. . .

Alex built this barge from a Hobie Cat to take his 4 wheelie over to the island.

Runs is with a 2HP Johnson and steers it with the rudder.

Kept the locals amused. Loco gringos.

I don't think I have ever seen photos of the car ferry that runs from Lopez Mateos to the island. If anyone has any, it would be interesting to see...

2 horse power may be pushing the envelope a little bit.

It's not far from the mouth of the river across the estero, but there is a long fetch for a north or south wind and a surprising chop can build pretty quickly. Also, routine tidal currents of 3 - 4 knots.

Have a care.

It has been raining here yesterday afternoon and evening and has started buckets again just now.

Yes, Bill, he just ran it around in front of the dock yesterday. I wouldn't want to be out in the channel with it.

But Alex says he has probably been on every sand bar in the end of the bay - in his skiff. He's a daring soul.

That is a cute vehicle. How creative! Not Baja but we are in Mexico City and it has been pouring all afternoon.
