Hotel Serenidad For Sale

Just saw the listing on Craigslist for the sale of the Hotel Serenidad at 1.5 Mil.

It will be interesting to see how a change of ownership will effect this Mulege icon. As it sits, the lady is a bit worn.

I was there last November for the pig roast and Don came around to all the tables and talked to the guest. Don is getting up in years and it's probably time to get some young blood in to dress it up.

It would be fantastic if someone fixed her up a bit to keep the hotel going strongly.

Don should just make a deal with the Ejido. They gonna get it anyways.

The Ejido and Johnson have been going at it like prize fighters for the better part of three decades. I would expect a new owner to face more of the same.

The Ejidos have the Constitution and Land Reform on their side. I would never bet against them.
They also have oriental patience and will wait forever to have someone in office who will take their side.

I was down there about a year ago and Don was still welcoming all the guests at dinner. One of his daughter's was there too. The next morning he was working on the room next to us with a helper. I had thought the daughter were taking over. Love that place and it's history.

I'm confused... again
" From Jack at BBPilots
Just got off the phone with Don, he said that the Hotel is not for sale and he is working to find out exactly how the so called listing got put up and it is my feeling that once he finds out, the "Stuff" is going to hit the fan.
He told me to tell everyone that the weather is wonderful, the strip is in good shape, the fishing is unbelievable, and all is well in "Mulege Land"
Jack"
Some one else please talk to Don, in person. If Jack is correct there should be some people dragged through the Mulege Mud! But there must be some facts put forth before anyone goes off half c-cked.:?:
I don't know Jack but I know that the fishing nor the sticky weather is "wonderful"

I don't know Jack either. I know, I know. I just couldn't pass it up, and I know most of you will agree.

I do hope the Serenidad stuff gets straightened out.

My understanding is Diana and Marco have no desire to run it.
No one can replace the energy and drive even a man the age of Don brings to the place. No Don, no panache.

Gonna take a real showman with bux to invigorate that property. I hope it happens. Don has certainly earned a rest.
