Last Trip to Mulege.

On the 11th, I'll begin my last trip to Mulege. As I age, my legs don't always do what I want them to do.

I have been coming down in the summer for about 12 years. (I like the heat)

My stay involves staying at Mulege Inn and going to a beach just South of Santispac. I can't remember its name but they have structures for shade. Not many people go there in August because of the heat. I spend the day reading my Kindle, listing to music, and munching on food a beverage. A number of dips in the water do great for temperature controle.

At about 4:00 I return to the Inn to clean up or dinner. Not sure of the spelling, but Donney's is across the street, Equepis is on the list, and if El Candil is open I would eat there too. My guess is that they close for the summer.

I've always kept to myself, but may have met Nomads at El Candle in years past.

So, beginning on the 14th if an of you Nomads see and old white haired man reading Kindle or "scarfing" food, say "Hello". I missed the pizza scarfing place, but I'll bet it was fun.

On the way down, I'll beep an eye out for Mikes Camper.

How long are you going to be in town?
I'm heading south for a few days but hope to bump into you!

We always go during the summer months too; love the lack of people and the warm water in the bay. Your routine sounds fantastic. I always return from Mulege planning my next trip; the ones in October are sad because I know I won't be back until May.

Bill, after your "last" trip to Mulege, I'm sure you will be re-energized for even more in the future. Enjoy your trip and the heat.

Enjoy your trip... We LOVE the summer in Baja, with everything warm... icluding the Sea of Cortez day and night!

Please post a trip report when you come back, and if you do take photos, please share them. I am happy to assist with the process.

Scotty's El Candil is closed for the summer, sad to say, but Equipales and Doney's are going strong. The weather has been great and the water is a little warmer than last year.

We're headin' south this next week, so I'll look you up as soon as we get back.

Can't speak for dear Shari-- and she's a woman who knows her tacos, btw-- but she's on the other side of the península, but yeah she's welcome as is Pescador or anybody else around these parts.

btw, there's a really, really good sushi place within walking distance of your hotel, HAMI Sushi, pretty little red building towards the town arch entrance, open Thursday-Saturday about 7-10 pm. Great lady, speaks English fluently, too, screamin' sushi like you never had it before.

As much as I love a scarf gathering...I try not to stray far from Asuncion in the summer...I suck at heat! I think you all should head over here for the worlds best shrimp tacos on saturdays and sundays! Enjoy each other's company all.

... and BajaBill74, we can go snorkeling, too, right over the hill from my house.

Bring your gear if you got it; if not I have some extra stuff. Bring a long-sleeved t-shirt and possibly thin trousers to keep your tender, north-of-the-border skin from par-boiling-- yes, the wáter is warm as you know and the sun a tad hot.

Hola Bill: nice to meet you at Los Cocos. Great day there, no? Just a few of us, and so peaceful and quiet as compared to Santispac. Hope you are enjoying your stay here, and hope that fate/providence/luck brings you new options or ways to continue to visit in the future.

Hi, Bill & Len
I just got in last night from La Paz, a loooong week away from home.
I'm just getting back in the swing of things here in the house today.

I'll try to get by for a visit on Monday, Bill. You're staying in Hotel Mulege, right?

Len, it was dark when we passed by the geocache you found, but we could see it!!
It was exactly what Ricardo had seen before-- how fun is that?
Now I know where it is, too.
I'll get back down there and check it out sometime soon.
