Ah, nothing like a Hyder Highjack! I love that place. Alaska's most southernmost town...with a whopping population of 87 in 2010. Feels more
Canadian than American. Where you go to get Hyderized High...and then walk on glaciers and do some sketching. Good times, Good place.
Here's some photos from our last trip scrapbook.
Take a little Hyderizer home for a nightcap...
Take a little brisk walk on the glaciers to relieve the Hyder Hangover...
Hmmm.....I wonder if we could survive another Hyder trip?

John M, you're gonna die! (this is not a terrorist threat, just a statement of fact, considering how old and rotten you are). :-) :-) :-)
I know where you live!
When are you going on that pre-run check of the PLR?

John M,
Marian bought me a new toy suitable for a young kid like me. Eat your heart out. I told her I was taking it on the PLR. Check your email.

Is that 'co-pilot', Roger? She looks so much younger in these pictures. You two sure had some good times together.

When I worked up there we used to bring bottles back to Prince George. Mix it with grapefruit juice . Gets the " party started quickly "

Brian is 80lbs. Not a mean dog at all. All of the fights he got into I had him on the lead right beside me.
Funny story about that White lightening. I was working in Petersburg Alaska. Went out drinking with the boys. Had a hard time getting used to
drinking US beer (1/2 strength of Canadian beer) at $5 a pop. Our dollar was in the toilet at the time so it was a little pricey. Started working
the bartender pretty good about it. He gave us a couple of rounds of Everclear on the house to shut us up. Black out after that. Woke up in a
trashed hotel room and a big bill I had to explain to my wife once I got home from my shift.

BeemerDan, it looks like we've trekked the same paths in Hyder. One of the great things about exploring Salmon Glacier is it's easy accessibility to
travelers. A place of breathtaking scenery and I'll bet you really enjoyed taking the motorcycle through it all.

Indeed, Igor...that's Felipa for you. She always looks great and we've shared some splendid years and events. Incidentally, we have the same
birthday (which helps to insure that I never forget hers.) Not the same year, but the same day/month. We even got married on our birthday. She
reminds me on those occasions... 'I'll always be 10 years younger than you'. I don't know why she finds humor in that. Women are very mysterious.

We've been to Hyder twice. First time in '73; second time '05. Unfortunately we did see some differences. One was the fact that where we camped and I
fly-fished in '73 now has a large parking area, tourist kiosk, and boardwalk so the tourists can see the bears "up close and personal" from the safety
of the raised boardwalk.
The two towns (Steward B.C. and Hyder AK) should always be on the itinerary of anyone who's driving to AK. If nothing else the forty-mile drive along
the Bear River from Meziadin Jct. is some great scenery.
