Telcel regalo

Things have changed this year with regalo minutes. If you are on the Amigo plan and are putting on $200 pesos per month, you will end up going to level two and getting 100 regalo pesos every time you refill. In the past I called Telcel and asked if they could be used for Internet and was told no.

This year they give you 1 Meg of data for 2 pesos so that 100 pesos of regalo turns into 50 Meg's of data. In La Paz I measured 1.2 Meg down and 0.6 Meg up.

Not bad for something I could never use in the past.

If I use all my "regular" Amigo credit, will regalo then be debited when making local or US calls? If not, then is regalo not available for voice calls?

The regalo is only for calls in and about Mexico. Will not work for US calls.
I just went through this with TelCel this last week.
Have 1500+ time credit that will probably never use and not exchangeable for anything else.

nowmy teens told me that you can regalo the minutes to other cell phones!

How about that for a great way to share the joy?
