Blanca is gobsmacked

wow...what an amazing day. John arrived last night to much rubllerousing in our household -Les and some buddies were having a blast drinking fresh strawberry margaritas. All of a sudden a car with a kayak on top pulls up and in comes John ... he had offered to bring down a suitcase of things my mom bought for the teens. So he joined us for dinner and for the margaritas!

Then today, he comes over and nonchalantly says he has donations for the project .... whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaa whoa

He absolutely filled any wishlist I may ever have dreamed up!

TIES SHORTS TOOTHPASTE SOAP AND MORE MORE MORE:

SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS:

ENOUGH SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO LEAVE ME OPENMOUTHED:

THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW I FEEL - THE CLOSEST IS THE BRITISH EXPRESSION: GOBSMACKED! John is headed south, his bajanomad name is Jbcoug

If you see him - give him a high 5! He was a teacher for some 37 years in Washington state -he taught agriculture - teachers are my biggest supporters. I do feel very lucky today to be on this Earth and meeting such incredible humans.

Now...to continue the fun! John brought down a suitcase of stuff my mom bought for the project -check this out:

INCREDILE BACKPACK:

TWO FANS (IT GETS HOT IN SANTA ROSALIA AND LA PAZ) - TIES TIES TIES AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES AS WELL. THANKS MOM! YOU ARE THE BESTEST.....

MY SISTER CHRISTINE WHO LOVES FAMOUS NAME BRAND CLOTHES DONATED AMAZING DRESSES:

AND BLOUSES:

I WILL BE SAVING THOSE FOR NEXT CHRISTMAS - JUST WISH IT WOULD HURRY UP AND GET HERE ALREADY. LOL

THIS AFTERNOON, TWO BOYS STOPPED BY TO DO A NEAT SURVEY FOR SCHOOL WHICH REQUIRED THEM TO ASK ME AROUND 10 QUESTIONS - WHERE I WAS BORN, WHERE I HAD LIVED AND WHAT PROJECTS I WAS INVOLVED IN. I USED THE OPPORTUNITY TO TELL THEM THAT I AM INVOLVED IN HELPING OUT A GROUP OF EX-ADDICTS IN SAN IGNACIO. I TALKED TO THEM ABOUT DRUGS AND HOW DANGEROUS THEY WERE. ASKED THEM TO NEVER EVER TRY THEM - EVEN IF THEY WERE OFFERED FREE. HERE THEY ARE WITH SOME GOODIES SO THAT THEY NEVER FORGET THIS DAY AND THIS CONVERSATION:

THANKS AGAIN FOLKS, FOR LISTENING AND LETTING ME SHARE THE MIRACLES THAT HAPPEN AROUND HERE, FOR DONATING WHEN YOU CAN, FOR MAKING OUR WORLD A BETTER PLACE !

WOW and fantastic.

Now I must ask, is this the same John who also stopped at the Home for the Elderly Gentlemen and left a very nice donation? I believe it is and Penny said he was the nicest person and met each and every one of the men. This trend of stopping there with donations and then bringing donations to you is becoming a trend --- an EXCELLENT trend.

Those kids are very fortunate to have you helping them out Blanca. I hope they are able to understand and pass forward your generosity.

Thank you John! Thank you, Blanca's mom and sister! Thank you Blanca! My thank-you's are my recognition and appreciation for good decent people being active in their goodness. You bring balance to a distressed world. :)

Yay for John and all the others who are so generous!

I'm doing spring cleaning, will be setting aside women's clothing items for you for future trips (please remind about sizes, styles).

And I will ask the people I'm caravaning down with to bring items as well.

(I think we will be going to San Ignacio end of March- I will U2U to coordinate a drop off place/date)

Love to see people keep paying it forward.

Yes, Diana, it is indeed the very same John because he said her met Penny.

Art! How are you doing? Trust me when I say these kids really do understand ....one of them who is from the first group of college sponsored kids wrote me the other day and said " Blanca, thank you so much for always helping us. One day I will help others the way you are helping me" They all know that they must support two others who must then support two others. Our goal is to one day have no kid not studying due to a lack of funds :))))

Tony! Miss you -cant you come and visit? Your wedding gift is a constant reminder of how long you and I have been amigos.

Woody hahaha Christmas in December or rather in January when we get back from our family visit in san diego. I can wait.

churro - come on over!

Lori -thanks for being such a positive force .... always.....

I think John is having fun here and I sure hope his wife comes to visit one day too. I bet he posts an awesome trip report - he LOVED the whale watching in Asuncion with Shari!
