THE 'PLAZAS' OF BAJA ARE QUIET PLACES...

during most daytimes, but not so much at night!!
Here's a typical noontime at Mulege's central plaza..the taxi drivers playing dominoes and waiting for their customers. Everything slows to a sleepy stroll.
We had lunch today at the Pelican Reef right behind these players...great fish/chips, pulled Bar-B-Q tortas, and fish soup...muy sabroso!

A daytime plaza dweller. This is Xavier, an old friend for 30 years. He is a an expert fisherman. Has a limp caused by an old baseball injury, but doesn't slow him down much. He possesses a heart of gold and has shown me many great fishing holes over the years. I gave him one of my black Lab pups many years ago and we started a great friendship.

BajaJudy,
It's really a small world...especially in Mulege. I certainly do know that bench..and very well...I designed one identical for Alfredo who built two for us and 500 sq. meters of flagstone patio for our housefront..mine had fish designs. The next big job Alfredo got was the entire central plaza in Mulege, plus the benches. Funny you would pick a photo of a thing that I had drew up.;D

Pompano, Your pictures are wonderful, your tales are bigger than life, and your place on Conception Bay looks to be "Wunderbar". How long have you been traveling to Baja? On the ground or in the air? How about some background, with a few tales wrapped around it.....

Live, love and be happy.
