St.Peter and Paul Church

Yesterday I went to 7 am mass at a church about 3 minutes away from the apartment on foot. There are at least 5 different masses scheduled all day long and it is the old fashioned service with those gorgeous deep ringing bells to announce the beginning of mass and inside the church, there were the multi toned bells rung by the alter boys, there was someone playing the organ and singing hymns - it was magical. I haven't been to a more moving mass since I was a kid in Miami!

EDIT TO SAY THAT WE ARE IN WEGORZEWO -IN THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF POLAND, NOT TOO FAR FROM THE RUSSIAN BORDER.

THE ENTRANCE:

BEFORE THE THRONG:

TO THE SIDE:

ALSO ON THE SIDE:

FRONT ALTAR:

LOOKING TOWARDS THE BACK AND CEILING:

SUCH DETAIL TO THE CONFESSIONAL MAKES YOU WANNA CONFESS ALL!

ON THE OTHER SIDE:

BEAUTIFUL STAINED GLASS WINDOWS - ABOUT 8 AND ALL UNIQUE:

THE CHURCH WAS PACKED AT 7 AM, I CAN SEE WHY A POLE BECAME POPE:

SO MUCH ART:

I PRAYED ALONG WHILE NOT UNDERSTANDING ONE WORD - I BELEIVE THE PRIESTS (THREE) WERE USING AN ARCHAIC FORM OF POLISH....SO I SANG AND PRAYED IN ENGLISH FOR ALL MY AMIGOS:

Hey Blanca:
I wanted to say a heartfelt THANK YOU for sharing your vacation with us. I feel like I have been there right along with you (wish I could've stopped the robbers!). Then just now I noticed at the bottom of your screen it says "Come visit us" and I thought, Man, I would LOVE to come visit you RIGHT NOW!!!

Anyhow, thanks again. It's a great pleasure! The pictures are all fantastic!

Beautiful church and photos. thank you. Such antiquity.

What city?

we are in WEGORZEWO

this is in the northeast corner of Poland, called the lake region

sailboats everywhere and lakes everywhere

come and visit! we would be happy to be hosts to anyone who wants to come- Les's brother has a neat hotel which we could get you a killer price on! the flight would be into Gdansk which is one of the most incredible cities - one of my very favorite in Poland.

St. Paul sure got around. From Turkey to Malta and all surrounding territory. Must have had a great mileage card.
