It's interesting sometimes to watch how the topic unfolds. Some real gems can be found:

1) Amazon is taking over the postal services.
2) It is unlikely that Mexican post workers are paid lower than Americans.
3) Most Americans living in Baja are not retirees or not old - or so it was implied. So they can not be cranky - alright, I won't comment on the IQ level changes in old age, the science have been known to be wrong before ;)...

people must keep in mind that in Mexico things arent standardized like NOB...you cant judge a whole company by a few bad apples. Each office is different with different people and ideas and ethics. What happens as a result may not be the fault of your local dealer but further on up the line. For example, our mail comes from the PO in Sta.Rosalia where perhaps there is a bad apple or not...so the mail or packages may have been opened there instead of the GN post office or where we receive mail here which is a tiny store.

I have always had good luck with Baja Pack but that's not to say some offices or employees where you are are bad. This applies for all companies here...from government offices to chain stores. Each place is unique with different rules and officers so one must check in with the local place for local customs, rules etc.

One cannot paint everything with a broad brush based on their personal experiences as things change so quickly and are so local.

But I do believe in general, the mail service is fairly poor and I would never depend on it. Best bet is to get someone to bring your packages and mail down for you.

"When Amazon Mexico becomes viable, they should take over mail delivery."

It was a joke.
