Spring 2016 La Paz Clinic


Hola Everyone, Here is a summary of the La Balandra Prosthetic/Orthotic clinic which was held Feb. 29 - Mar. 11, 2016:
(1) Hip Disarticulation prosthesis delivered
(5) Above Knee prostheses delivered
(10) Below Knee prostheses delivered
(2) AFO's (below the knee braces) delivered
(1) KAFO (above the knee brace) delivered
(3) New sockets for existing Below Knee prostheses
(2) New knee units for Above Knee prostheses
(2) New sockets for Above Knee prostheses

Various soft good items were delivered including neoprene knee braces, a low back corset, canvas ankle braces, prosthetic stump socks and stump shrinkers, silicone liners for prostheses, etc. In addition there were many repairs done to existing limbs and braces that were made at previous clinics, they included adding new liners to Below and Above Knee prostheses, replacing (9) artificial feet on existing prostheses, repairs and refurbishing body jackets/below knee braces/and various other orthopedic appliances.

The clinic included a group of international volunteers, including:

Patient clinic visits for the 2 weeks totaled 172.
