Buyers ready for a home away from home south of the border can buy property in a setting that's long been a favorite for vacationers, sportsmen and sun lovers. El Dorado Ranch, a seaside community developed by El Dorado Inc. in San Felipe, Mexico, is perfect for any vacation home or retirement haven buyers may want to build.

New release
The mater-planned community designed for golf and watersports enthusiasts has just released home sites with sea views. Shoppers may take their pick of cul-de-sac or large properties positioned to capture vistas of the sea, desert and mountains.

Priced from $32,500, the .25-acre and larger properties include underground electricity and border large open spaces. Every home site has an 180-degree view of the sea and view of the mountains. The level to gently sloping sites vary in size, contour and orientation and feature a desert landscape. A limited number of golf course home sites in Phase 2 are also available.

At El Dorado Ranch buyers can take advantage of legislation that allows Americans to hold real estate in Baja. Ownership is secured by Houston-based Stewart Title Guaranty Mexico division.

The properties are suitable for custom construction and "green construction," including straw bale, solar and adobe. Immediate building is not required.

Developer financing, low down payments, home plans and architectural and builder services are available.

"Mexico's constitution was amended in the 1990s to enable Americans to buy real estate, including the previously restricted seaside areas," said Robert Rios, executive vice president of R-Mac Properties, the listing agent for the properties. "Our buyers are here for the incredible sea views, access to some of the world's best beaches and a real estate opportunity whose time has come."

El Dorado Ranch is 7 miles north of San Felipe, Mexico, and two hours south of the U.S. border.

I have three lots that I'll make you a deal on. Have lived here about 10 years and think it's great but everything's for sale if the price is right.

three lots?

bajalou...give me the lot numbers, I'll be happy to look at them. I am buying a few parcels here and there. If you are serious about the 3 lots, please email me with the prices, address of lot(s), and a short permission to enter the lot to view. I can offer you 94 Fish Tacos right now! Or wait and I'll make you a cash offer (if I like anything there). Thanks
